Banana Bread with Kefir

I wanted to bake a banana bread for ages. It’s not very common in the Czech Republic and I’ve never even tried it, but bananas…everything with bananas is sooo tempting!

So finally I got to make a banana cake and was searching for a good, not too sweet, a bit heatlhier recipe. I found just too many to choose, so decided I’m going to try, experiment and make my own. With kefir, a fermented milk drink.

Thai Green Chicken Curry

Cheshire Food Blog

I’ll admit it then…I’m addicted to Thai food! As a real ThaiFoodaholic I cook Thai food almost every week, whether it’s a Thai soup, stir-fry, noodles or curry.

It took me quite a long time to find a good Green Curry Paste. Sometimes they are too hot, sometimes too mild. When I have time, I prepare my own paste from scratch, but during the working week I have to stick with the quickest solution. This is the paste I’d recommend…

It’s a bit of trend now to replace traditional ingredients with healthier options, but it sometimes makes me think – are these “healthier” options really better for us?

In January, most of us are trying to eat a bit healthier and work out a bit harder. Not sure if the working out harder applies to me. I admire all the people who run every day, talking about how great it is and how they can’t live without it…and that once you get into a sport activity and do it, whatever it is, regularly, you can’t stop. Well, I’ve tried, not once, not twice…but about hundred times and I’ve never ever got into that phase when you can’t be without a sport activity. It will always be a couple of hours better spent in the kitchen cooking or eating than working out! I guess I’m just lazy…

Carrot soup with a twist

Cheshire Food Blog

With the New Year upon us, it’s time for some lighter, healthier dishes…well, at least for a few weeks 🙂 After countless failures, I’ve decide not to make any New Year’s resolutions. Sure, I have some plans for 2016. I would like to find more time for sharing with you all things food here on the blog and remember I need to take a picture of my food creations before it’s all eaten! Being a beginning blogger, this has been a real struggle…and believe me, with half a steak or one last piece of sushi on the plate, it’s hard to take a decent photo!
